PowerCranks Contender FINAL Route

PowerCranks Contender ultra endurance bicycle race

The preliminary route of the PowerCranks Contender was designed as a mid-distance ultra-endurance bicycle race which can be completed within 5 days. Relay teams and some soloists will be able to complete the course in considerably less time.

The route is mountainous and involves over 27,200 meters of climbing over the 1,617 kilometer long route. But the PowerCranks Contender is more than mountains as it travels through the natural beauty of British Columbia where over 400 species of wildlife live. Where rain forests crowd mountains and crystal clear lakes are fed by often raging rivers.

For the most part, major cities are avoided and secondary highways have been selected whenever possible. As much as possible it follows the same route as the Tour of British Columbia before turning off around Nelson, BC to head north and northwest to rejoin the Tour of BC route near Lillooet, BC on its way to Whistler and south to the finish line in White Rock, BC.
